Kailasa Temple
The magnificent monolithic marvel dedicated to Lord Shiva — the world's largest rock-cut structure
Course Overview
Reinventing the Ellora Caves is a short virtual course that reimagines the timeless beauty of one of India's most celebrated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Through a combination of scholarly research and digital visualisation, this course offers a fresh perspective on the caves — helping participants see beyond weathered stone to appreciate the artistry and intention of the original creators.
Experience the caves as they might have appeared centuries ago — with colours, textures, and sculptural details brought into focus through careful study and digital enhancement. A rare opportunity to glimpse the living, vibrant world of ancient Indian rock-cut artistry.
Across three carefully crafted lectures, participants will explore the cultural, spiritual, and artistic legacy of Ellora — spanning Hindu and Jain traditions. The course invites reflection on how this heritage can be appreciated, preserved, and reimagined for future generations.
